About WestLocals

WestLocals is a curated directory of the independent businesses that give our neighbourhoods their character. We cover 22 areas from Richmond in the west to Battersea in the east, spanning 11 categories of local businesses.

This is not another listings dump scraped from Google. Every business in our directory is independently owned and operated. We verify that chains and franchises stay out, because the whole point is to celebrate the people who took a risk, signed a lease, and built something of their own.

Why this exists

West London has some of the best independent businesses in the country, but they are scattered across dozens of high streets and village centres. Most people only know what is on their own doorstep. We want to change that.

Whether you live in Putney and have never explored the boutiques of Richmond, or you are in Chiswick and have not found the hidden cafes of Barnes, this directory connects you with the independents you have been missing.

How listings get added

We research each neighbourhood on foot and online, verifying that every business is genuinely independent. If you run an independent business in West London and want to be listed, or if you know one we have missed, get in touch via our contact page.

Business owners can also claim their listing to update details, add photos, and access featured placement.
